John O. FARMER IV

John O. Farmer IV, (Quatro, or John-John to  some), joined John O. Farmer, Inc. in June 1991 after graduating with a BS in geology from Fort Hays State University. Before attending FHSU, John earned a BS in Park & Resource Management at Kansas State University.

In addition to being an exploration geologist for the company, John managed state and federal environmental compliance requirements, assisted in property acquisitions, oversaw well recompletions and field operations. His favorite job was getting out in the field to do well site geology, especially when they discovered the black gold.  John's computer geology experience has also been of great benefit in digitizing the geology department and developing a 3D seismic program.

John IV later acted as the company's Vice President before becoming President in 2015. He currently serves as a Vice Chairman for the Kansas Independent Oil & Gas Association. John and his wife, Michelle, have six children.  When John isn't with his family or at work, you can bet he is hunting, fishing or cheering on the KSU Wildcats.
